National Care Leavers Week 2020 #NCLW2020 “Our Care Our Say” #OCOS #CareCliff

Delivering a meaningful review of the care system: “Our Care Our Say”

There are approximately 99,000 children in care in the UK, and each year over 10,000 young people “leave” the care system and become “care leavers”.

Our Care Our Say” believe that care experienced people of all ages have the right to have a say in England’s forthcoming Care Review. Our firm belief is that the views of care experienced people of all ages should be amongst the first things to land on the desk of the independent chair of the Care Review in England when they are appointed.

New Action for Children report “Staying Put”

This new Action for Children report explores what can be done to make sure all young people leaving foster care can keep living with their carers once they turn 18, if that’s what they want. Please read more: Staying Put six years on: young people still being forced to leave their foster families before they’re ready

We are a national leadership group for Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) and IRO Managers. We are made up of an elected Chair and elected Regional Leads who represent their region at a national level (two from each of the nine government regions within England).
