Building on “Our Care Our Say” survey there will be an online webinar for 100 care experienced people taking place on Saturday 7th of November. This event is for people with care experience of all ages to capture their views on the forthcoming government review of the care system.
About this Event
The government announced in its election manifesto that it was going to undertake a review of the care system. Covid-19 has delayed the announcement of further information. But we believe that the chair of the review will be announced shortly. The Care Experienced Conference Team, The Care Leavers Association, the National Independent Reviewing Officers Managers Partnership and other care experienced people have joined together to facilitate an event for care experienced people of all ages to put forward their views on how the review should be conducted and what issues the review should cover.
The event will gather a snap shot of views from care experienced people with a maximum of 100 spaces available. We have taken the decision to split spaces available between those under 25 who are going through the leaving care journey, and those over 25 who have left care. We will also try to ensure that we have a good mix of people from different backgrounds with different experiences.
We will write up a report after the event and share this will the chair of the review.
